What is a HIIT workout?

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. From wikipedia: High-intensity interval training (HIIT), also called High-Intensity Intermittent Exercise (HIIE) or sprint interval training, is an enhanced form of interval training, an exercise strategy alternating periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 9–20 minutes. These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition, improved glucos metabolism, and improved fat burning.

In TurboFire, you do 30-60 second bursts of High Intensity Turbo followed by short periods of recovery. There are 4 TurboFire HIIT workouts (15 min, 20 min, 25 min and 30 min)

So, I do these when I am EXTRA short on time and I know I get a major calorie burn in a short period of time. Try it as part of a complete fitness program. A HIIT workout should not be done every day because your body needs a period of rest and recovery from such an intense workout.

A great recovery drink following a HIIT workout is Shakeology. Remember doesn’t matter how many HIITs you do, you will never have that six-pack without proper nutrition good food choices!!
