Busy Mom Tip: Save time by Unsubscribing
This tip for busy moms came to me today as I opened my email mid-day to find 20 new emails (I had already checked email 2 hours prior). As I was scrolling through them, I noticed that only 10-20% were ones I was interested in and needed to spend time reading. The others were from various stores or sites that I had subscribed to receive info from.
Sometimes these offered a deal or discount for signing up and may send you information that you find useful to read occasionally. It is good to get a coupon once in a while or there may be an article that you find interesting.
My suggestion in this tip for busy moms is to unsubscribe from any newsletter, stores, websites that no longer apply to you or that you don’t ever read and just delete. Seriously, my youngest is 4 years (not months) old and I got an email from Pregnancy.org…come on! If there are some that you read occasionally or want the coupon every once in a while, keep them, but filter them out of your mail inbox. Send them to a folder that you can look through when you decide to go to that store and want a coupon or have a couple minutes to read a newsletter about something that interests you (Organic Gardening, for me). And when you do decide to go back to these have purpose. Try not to get sucked into reviewing all of them.
How does this help you as busy moms? The more little things we do to free up time gives us more time to be us. To get ourselves back!
You may choose to use this time for coloring and reading books with the kids, getting a quick workout in, sitting down and talking with your partner or maybe it’s just an extra minute to watch a bit of morning news and have some coffee in peace in the early am. Whatever it is that you are able to do as you free up some time, will help you gain some control back over your life and by doing that you can build confidence in yourself and your abilities.
