Busy Mom Tip – Make Your Mornings Less Chaotic
If you are like me, weekday mornings are crazy busy! There are a few things that I do to help alleviate some of the craziness.
First and foremost, I get up early to get my personal time in before anyone else is up in the house. What time, you may be wondering? Somewhere between 5:30 and 6:30 am. It depends on many things…how long is my scheduled workout, do I have work to get done, do I have to wash my hair (seriously!), etc.
I love the quiet of the morning (I have two boys, so quiet is a rarity). Getting up early allows me to get the things I need to get done, done before I start on what all my loved ones need done! And the first thing I do is workout. I’m a better mom and wife when I have had some personal time to get my fitness in.
Second, I prep the kids lunches for the week. Make sure the lunch boxes and cups are clean. Make sandwiches, put them in baggies and store them in the fridge. Portion out the side fruits, vegetables and snacks into baggies, and put them in the fridge. So, when it’s time to get lunches packed, all it requires is a simple assembly of the already packed items and writing a note!
Third, I always have a healthy breakfast and my easy, on the go breakfast is Shakeology. My favorite is blended with water, ice and a small banana. It takes me less than 3 minutes and I can head out the door knowing that I am nourishing my body with the healthiest meal of the day.

By doing just a couple things, it makes my mornings run so much smoother. When I don’t do it, I’m a nut case in the morning. It’s not pretty.
It’s a bunch of little things that will help you get your “YOU” back and balance your sense of self with raising a happy, healthy family!
