5 Snack Ideas Before a Workout

If you are working out later in the day and have been eating healthy meals and getting enough calories throughout the day then you don’t need to eat anything. But if you workout first thing in the am AND feel you lack energy during your workouts, having a little snack before is a good idea.

I personally workout first thing and don’t have a snack because I don’t feel I need it. My energy is high and I can work hard and get through without it. I do use E&E before a crazy intense workout like my INSANITY Class or a T25 workout at home. It gives me the little boost of energy I need to push my classes and myself to peak performance!! LOVE IT!

Here are five great snack ideas to get your energy up for your workout. These should be consumed about 30 minutes before starting your workout. AND, don’t forget to stay hydrated.

1. 1/2 serving of Shakeology
2. Cottage cheese or greek yogurt with some fruit
3. oatmeal with fruit
4. Whole wheat toast with nut or seed butter and banana
5. Whole grain crackers with a bit of cheese
